Empiricists posit that knowledge is only attained by actual observation and experience. This suggests that the tree that fell in the woods did so when I saw and or heard it fall by actual observation and experience and not by after-the-fact or secondhand testimony. On the other hand,  Constructivists assert that we craft knowledge as we interact with a phenomenon. This means that we are social actors and craft social life as we live and interact with others and our environment. I wrote a short piece for a Newsletter, “What is God like?” where in I dealt with these perspectives. Send me your email if you want to read it.

After much reflection I conclude that the matter of evidence involves observation, experience and the construction thereof via one’s personal participation. What have you observed and experienced with God that allows you to respond to this commentary? Do you have sufficient evidence about God and or things related to His existence and activity for making life meaningful?

What do you determine as evidence? Can you speak and or write such evidence so others might be helped in their search for meaning in life and about God’s role for such?
